Upcoming 2009 Poedunk Trail Days…
HALO TRAIL Please help us put the finishing touches on the fresh singletrack cut by the NCC.
December 29 (Saturday) 9:00 am
Meet at the HOGE ROAD TH (just past the Bonanza Casino, turn left off North Virginia Street on to HOGE ROAD, go up hill, keep following another 1/4 mile when road turns to dirt) to trail head.
We are working under a Sponsored Volunteer Agreement with the USFS and due need to work to their standards and specifications, including these requirements for trail work:
YOU MUST PROVIDE:
- Sign in/Sign out signature
- Long pants
- Long shirt
- Fully enclosed shoes or boots
- water
- sunscreen
WE WILL PROVIDE:
- tools
- hard hats
- instruction / know how
- gloves, safety goggles, first aid kits
Sorry - no volunteers under 16 years of age may participate. Ages 16-18 may with an adult consent form and signature.

The Poedunks encourage you as a mountain biker and Peavine trail user to particpate in the Keep Truckee Meadows Beuatiful Annual Great Truckee Meadows Community Clean Up. Join us at HOGE ROAD SITE, in the heart of Peavines/Keystone Canyon trail network. WIll tackle the shooting gallery, Keystone Canyon, and over to Raleigh Heights. Give the orgainizers a heads up by signing up under “Volunteer Now” , and pick the “Hoge Road” Site. List the Poedunks or your favorite affiliation under “Comments” to let them know who you are.
2010 TRAILS AND OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP TRAINING
Fri-Sun, May 2010 (t.b.a.)The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will host a 3 day trail construction and crew leader course May 15-17, 2009 in Galena, NV. The course will include in-class instruction with a focus on field work experience. Friday: Layout & Design course.
